The third rolling mill unit enters the exploitation phase, producing 500,000 tons of iron wire coils annually
Algerian Qatari Steel Company (AQS), a significant player in the national iron and steel industry, continues to implement its ambitious program to complete the construction of the Bellara complex (with a completion rate of 96%), with the recent commencement of production by the third rolling mill unit. This unit has a production capacity of 500,000 tons annually of iron wire coils in various sizes.
Thanks to a young workforce consisting of university graduates and vocational training center graduates, along with advanced production technology, AQS aims to produce two million tons of steel annually, including 1.5 million tons of reinforcing steel and 500,000 tons of iron wire coils.
The massive production capacity of the complex will help meet the local market demand for iron in the first stage, with surplus production destined for export to regional and international markets in the second stage.
It's worth mentioning that the Bellara Iron and Steel Complex (AQS) is the result of a partnership between Algeria and Qatar, established under the investment rule (51/49), with an investment exceeding $2 billion.
